In 2008, he Rushed for 1,358 yards and 28 touchdowns on offense and ended the season with 88 tackles, 12 for a loss, four forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and two interceptions on defense.
Recruiting fans from coast to coast have speculated for some time that USC had the inside track but Jefferson shook the recruiting world tonight as he said he has other intentions.
"I have dropped USC. I am looking forward to taking some official visits. The teams that I will take my offcial visits to right now are Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Michigan, Florida and Penn State. I am still open at this time."
The September 19 match up with Tennessee in The Swamp appears the most likely date Jefferson will get to see the Gators in person.
