FNL Spotlight: Timmy Jernigan

At 6-3 and 280-pounds, Timmy Jernigan was named second team all-state defensive lineman after his sophomore season. With offers from teams including Florida, Florida State, South Florida, Michigan and others, Jernigan could be the top player in the state for the class of 2011.

From Lake City (FL) Columbia High School, Tim Jernigan is incredibly quick off the ball and creates mismatch nightmares for opposing offensive linemen. He plays with great pad leverage making it very difficult for offensive linemen to drive him off the ball and at times unable to move him off the line regardless of direction.

Jernigan was one of the best overall prospects at last year's Friday Night Lights after his ninth grade season and this year's event will be no different. A true man child, Jernigan has been to Gainesville numerous times and looks to come back for every event the Gators hold.

Jernigan will also attend Seminole Showcase on Saturday, July 18. He finished his sophomore season with more than 100 tackles and 20 sacks.

Make no mistake about it, Jernigan will be one of the top overall players at this year's Friday Night Lights regardless of age or position.
