McCartney in No Rush to Make a Decision

No wide receiver in the state of Florida has seen his stock soar more than the 6-3, 185-pound Miramar (FL) standout. Ivan McCartney has offers from programs, including Florida, Oregon, Miami, West Virginia, South Florida and Pittsburgh. He recently visited Florida for Friday Night Lights with Jaylen and Sammy Watkins.

"It was great spending more time with Coach Gonzales on Friday," Ivan McCartney said. "He was telling me how much they want me and with all those top wide receivers in camp it feels real good. It makes me feel great knowing that they want me on that championship team out of all those great players that were there."

As for a time table, McCartney is in no hurry to make a decision.

"I told them that I was in no rush right now to make my decision, but I am really loving Florida right now," he said. "As for factors that I will use to make my decision, I think it will come down to style of offense, depth chart and comfort factor."

Another team to watch out for is West Virginia who landed two teammates from Miramar last season -- Eugene Smith and Stedman Bailey.

"West Virginia is a great school and they have a great atmosphere as well, so it will be a tough decision for me to make because they tell me how badly they want me on that team."

When I caught up with McCartney he was playing NCAA College Football and told me he was playing in season mode with the Gators.
