2011 Wide Receiver has Gators on Top

Wide receiver Rashad Greene made his second trip to the University of Florida for Friday Night Lights. Greene, from Ft. Lauderdale (FL) St. Thomas Aquinas made the trip up with a few teammates from the nation's top high school program.

"I came up with Cody Riggs, Lamarcus Joyner and Phillip Dorsett," 2011 prospect Rashad Greene said. "The camp was wild. It was my second trip to Florida. I also went to Gainesville for camp after my ninth grade season. Friday Night Lights was something new for me and it was real exciting. It was the first time I had a chance to run routes in The Swamp and it was real cool."

Greene talked about his performance on the night.

"I ran a bunch of go-routes, and during drills and the one-on-one portion, Coach Gonzales was calling my name out a few times and gave me a thumbs up. That was pretty cool and my dad came up with me and he liked everything and was impressed with the way things were going on the night. Everything just felt great. It seemed like we were getting ready for a real game at night under the lights. I liked the drills a bunch. I mean I can get the one-on-one stuff every day in practice, but the drills helped me out a bunch. That will be the last camp I attend because now it's time to get ready for the season."

Green, a 6-1 and 168-pound wide receiver with 4.4 speed talked about where the trip puts the Gators at this time.

"Florida is at the top for me. They pass the ball real well and that is what I am looking for as well as my comfort level."

August 10, St. Thomas Aquinas starts practice and Greene said the entire team has worked incredibly hard to make another run at a state and national title.
