Five Star Standout Nears Decision?

[MEDIA:32874]Antonio Cromartie visited the University of Florida this weekend and the senior standout from Tallahassee hopes to announce his decision this week. If not, the trips will continue.

Antonio Cromartie is one of the nation's elite athletes. He could play cornerback, receiver, safety and return kicks. Right now, he has taken three official visits - Michigan, Auburn and Florida. This weekend, he was at the University of Florida.

"I had a great time and Gavin (Dickey) was my host," said Cromartie. "I talked with both Coach (Charlie) Strong and Coach Dixon and they talked about using me on both sides of the ball. But I want to play defense first. Coach Strong seems like a great person. They also had my #13 jersey with my name on it and we went through a game day simulation.... got to run out on the field after they called our names on the PA. That was cool."

Cromartie, from Tallahasee (Fla.) Lincoln, is talking about making his decision public on Wednesday of this week. Nothing is set in stone yet, but he is thinking about a noon press conference at his high school.

"It is crunch time. Right now, I want to commit on Wednesday... it will be Florida, Florida State, Auburn or Michigan. I have talked with my coach (Dave Wilson) about it. We'll see what happens this week."

If Cromartie does not commit, he will visit either Alabama, Oklahoma or Miami this coming weekend and Florida State (1-31) on the last visit weekend of the month.
