2011 Wide Receiver likes the Spread

South Carolina is home to one of the top wide receiver prospects in the Southeast. Dorman High School star Charon Peake is 6-4, 190-pounds and while he hasn't been timed in the 40 since last spring, he did post an impressive time of 4.44.

Charon Peake has verbal offers from some of the nation's top teams including Georgia, Clemson, South Carolina, Maryland, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Michigan State and North Carolina. Currently three standout from the rest.

"I have been to Clemson eight or nine times, Georgia three times and South Carolina two times," he said. "Georgia and Clemson are the two I am most familiar with right now."

Peake talked about what attracts him to those three schools.

Georgia: "I really like Georgia. I like all the coaches and the head coach and they are a winning program."

South Carolina: "I like the way they run the spread offense."

Clemson: "Clemson is close to home and they do a great job of recruiting me. Whenever they have any kind of events or things like that they make sure to let me know so I can visit."

On the defending national champion Florida Gators, Peake said he has not heard from them.

"I would consider Florida, but I need to hear from them. Florida, Florida State and Miami are three of the schools that I want to hear from but right now all I have is mail from all of them."

Peake has no time table on his decision but does have one thing that he will look for moving forward.

"I would like to play in the spread offense if I can find the right one. The one that throws it around from that set."
