"First of all, I will win a state championship," Matt Elam said. "After that my goal is to win Mr. Florida and Gatorade National Player of the Year."
These might seem unrealistic but for a player of his caliber, not only are they obtainable, but something that people should expect from a player that expects so much from himself.
Elam stayed very busy this summer.
"The summer went great. We went to three 7-on-7 tournaments with our team and two different ones with players from around the state and country. Our workouts went great and I feel a lot better about myself."
Elam's hard worked paid off as he entered the summer at 6-0 and 198-pounds and enters his senior season at 6-0 and 208-pounds. He also watched his strength numbers increase with his max bench press going up 35-pounds and 25-pounds on his max squat.
"I will be at every Gator home game, in Jacksonville and a few other away game,s and of course I will be at the national championship game. I have not set up my official visit to Florida yet."
