Wright Getting Strong Interest Early

The state of Georgia for 2011 will have a number of top prospects to keep an eye on. None more so than Columbus (GA) Carver defensive tackle Gabriel Wright. As a rising junior, Wright is already 6-4 and 265-pounds with impressive strength numbers. He has a 355-bench, 400-squat and power cleans 285 pounds.

Coming off an impressive sophomore season, Gabe Wright ended the year with 56 tackles, five sacks, and 12 tackles for a loss.

"I visited Auburn first and I loved the trip there and I met with the coaches and we had communication," Wright said. "My second trip was to Georgia and we camped and I also feel in love there too. Then I went to Florida state. It was a short trip but it was worth it. It just so happens to be right on the way to Gainesville so we stopped in Tallahassee first and I liked it there and will definitely try to get back. Last but not least for my sophomore year was Florida for Friday Night Lights. I did not participate in the event due to a slight groin injury but enjoyed the visit."

Wright has an impressive list of verbal offers, including Georgia, Clemson, Florida State, Florida, USC, LSU, Alabama, Texas, South Carolina, North Carolina, UCLA, Stanford, Southern Miss, Troy, Maryland, Auburn, Oklahoma and Ohio State.

Wright discussed some of the factors he'll use to make his decision.

"A good football program, a degree in criminal justice for criminology and if my girlfriend can get in with me."

Wright made the visit for Friday Night Lights with Isaiah Crowell and Devin Burns and said that he is in no rush to make a decision.

"I am young and have plenty of time to make this decision. I know Florida could make some moves with me and move up on my top 10 but it would take communication and time. I give the visit a 8.5."
