Wright Gearing up for the Fall

Fort Wayne (IN) Bishop Dwenger High School star Remound Wright is 5-8.5 and 190-pounds. He has family in North Carolina, South Carolina, Jacksonville and Savannah. Wright camped at some of the nation's top schools this past summer including Florida for four days, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Michigan State, Pittsburgh and Northwestern.

"The summer went extremely well for me," said Remound Wright. "I went to camps at Florida, Michigan State, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Pittsburgh, and Northwestern. I also went to 7-on-7 tournaments at Michigan State and Miami of Ohio. Every running back coach liked what they saw, and I'll be going to games this year at all those schools except Florida and Pittsburgh.

"The top three schools I like the best are Florida, Michigan State, and Ohio State. I love the facilities at Florida and Ohio State the most, and I like Northwestern's campus the best because it's part of Chicago. Northwestern has told me they'll offer soon, and then probably Notre Dame or Michigan State. I've also been receiving letters from UCLA. I was so busy that I didn't get a chance to go on any vacations. Michigan and Michigan State showed a lot of interest and gave a special tour."

Even though Wright might not be the biggest player in the class of 2011 he will without question be one of the strongest pound for pound.

"At the beginning of summer I was 5-7, 185. Now I'm about 5-8.5, 190. My squat max is around 600 and my bench max is over 300. My 40 went from a 4.6 to a 4.52 and should be down to a 4.4 by next year. My goals for the upcoming football season are no fumbles, eight to ten yards per carry, 30 yards per game after contact, always make the first guy miss and to win a state title. I plan on rushing for 2,000 yards and 20 touchdowns but these aren't on my goals list because they're things that I can't control. I can't control how many times I get the ball even though I'll be the featured back."

The outlook for this season looks very bright for Bishop Dwenger High School.

"We're looking good right now. We have experience in critical positions, and are planning on winning our conference for the fourth straight year and making a second consecutive trip to state. I'll definitely be a leader this year on offense and defense. From holding offensive film sessions and defensive film sessions to getting the team hyped before games to making sure people don't do dumb stuff on the weekends that will hurt our chances of winning."

Wright says that all teams are recruiting him about the same at this time.

"It's pretty even because I'm just getting a lot of attention from each of the schools I've visited. I've gotten the most mail from UCLA and the most verbal interest from Northwestern. but the other schools aren't far behind and have been very excited to talk to me when I was on their campuses."
