My Take:
One of the top cover corners in America, Cody Riggs is fast, physical and aggressive. He is not afraid to come up and play man and thrives in those situations. From arguably the top high school program in the country St. Thomas Aquinas Riggs like the rest of his teammates tend to keep things quiet. Riggs participated during Friday Night Lights in The Swamp and walked out so impressed he named the Gators his leader. Notre Dame and Georgia are clearly in the mix with Florida State and Tennessee hanging around but have significant ground to make up.

For a period of time leading up to Friday Night Lights Riggs had been very cautious with regards to naming any sort of leader for his services. The fact that he did name the Gators his top team at this time speaks volumes and should not be discounted lightly moving forward. The Florida coaching staff is big on recruiting players from great high school programs and St. Thomas is one of the best programs around.

Scout Take:
Riggs is a true shut-down corner. He has very good feet, hips, and speed. He always plays quick, he is always aware, and he does a very good job of recognizing the situation. Getting stronger is something he can work on, but he does most everything at a high level when it comes to covering receivers. He can play man or zone. - South Recruiting Analyst Chad Simmons.

Scout.Com Biography:
Riggs finished his junior season with 25 tackles and eight interceptions. He was named All-Broward County First Team DB and FSWA 5A First Team All-State. He says he can bench 215-pounds and has a 36-inch vertical jump. Riggs said he's considering majoring in either civil engineering or sports broadcasting. He reports a 3.8 core GPA and a 1210 SAT.

"I have good finesse too. I'm just a well-rounded corner.

"I want to improve my hip flexibility and reacting better on short routes."
