Will Hagerup Recruiting File

Will Hagerup is the nation's No. 3 ranked punter and one of the very best you will find in the class of 2010.

Position Rank: 3*/No. 3

40-Time: 4.8

Contenders: Michigan, Ohio State, Iowa, Northwestern, Wisconsin, Alabama, Florida, Indiana and Tennessee.

Some of the top teams in all of college football are looking at punter Will Hagerup. A high character prospect and one of the best at his position make him very attractive to more than one college team.

My Take: Over the summer there was a lot of smoke surrounding Hagerup and the possibility that he would announce his intentions for the University of Florida. As the weeks progressed things seemed to have died down but Hagerup will make four official visits in the month of September and one will be to The Swamp.

"I am taking an official visit to Florida for the Tennessee game. I can't wait! I don't have a front runner right now. It's an amazing place though. I will take official visits to Wisconsin, Ohio State and Michigan in September."

It remains to be seen if Florida will sign a punter/kicker in the class of 2010. As of right now I don't believe it will take place. The reason is not for lack of talent at that position but the amount of talent at other positions that have the Gators at or near the top of the list. One factor that could play into the equation is that the head coach Urban Meyer is also the special teams coach so if he wants a punter he will take a punter regardless. Right now it is hard for me to imagine a scenario in which Hagerup doesn't end up with the home team Badgers but with an exceptional visit on September 19 that could all change. The Swamp is a magical place and he can change the recruitment for any potential recruit on any given Saturday.

Scout.Com Biography:

Kicking Coach Chris Sailer of Chris Sailer Kicking's Comments: Will has the potential to be a phenomenal punter. He has the size, strength, and athleticism to be a great D1 punter. He says he can bench 240-pounds and has a 28-inch vertical jump.

Hagerup plans on majoring in business and reports a 3.0 core GPA. He won't disclose his SAT score but says he's already qualified.

Hagerup finished his junior season with an average of 41 yards per punt. He was a perfect four of four on field goals with a long of 44 yards.

Had a 39 yard punting average and a 58-yard kickoff average as a sophomore on varsity.

Hagerup: "I have good leg strength and I'm taller so that's a big advantage for me. I've got good hang-time and I'm pretty consistent.

"But I'm still working on my get off time and drop placement."
