2011 TE Talks Gators

At 6-7 and 240-pounds tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins will be one of the most heavily recruited prospects in the country over the next two years. From Gig Harbor (WA), Seferian-Jenkins runs in the 4.7 range and has good strength numbers with a 275-pound bench press, 450-pounds squat and 270-pound power clean.

"I have not been to Florida yet but am planning a trip in late March, early April," Austin Seferian-Jenkins said." I am excited to see the campus and meet coaches in person. I have met Coach White when he was at Washington so it will be good to see him again.I see myself fitting in well with the Gators because all the guys there want tocompete and win championships such as myself. It would be really exciting joining Gator nation because Ifeel comfortable with Coach White and what he plans for me at Florida. My relationship with coaches at UF are good I speak with Coach White weekly,I have built a strong relationship with Coach Whitesince he was at the UW he is somebody I trustand have talked to Coach Meyer a couple times."

As a 10th grader he ended the season with 19 receptions for 300 yards and three touchdowns. Seferian-Jenkins plays tight end and outside linebacker for Gig Harbor but wants to play tight end at the next level and grew up watching one of the best at the collegiate level.

"My favorite team growing up was Miami and Kellen Winslow, Jr. my favorite player."

He isn't ready to narrow anything down and plans to make his decision on National Signing Day. With offers from Washington, Washington State, Oregon, Oregon State, Stanford, California, UCLA, Arizona, Arizona State, Boise State, Oklahoma, Florida, North Carolina and Notre Dame he has plenty of homework to do.

"I have visited Stanford, USC, UCLA, Oregon, Washington and Texas and I hope to visit the Gators in late March or early April."

Seferian-Jenkins talks about what he does best on the football field.

"My route running, catching, and the ability to block as well as the lineman."
