Morant to Florida

The Gators continue their impressive recruiting run. Just a few minutes ago, Tranell Morant, a defensive end from Braddock High School in Miami, committed to Florida.

The University of Florida landed another big commitment as Miami (Fla.) Braddock standout defensive end Tranell Morant picked the Gators.

"I'm committed to Florida," Morant said. "I made my final decision [on Sunday afternoon] when I got back from my Miami visit," Morant said. "It came down to Miami and Florida. I just think Florida was a better fit for me. They have what I want. I like the coaches, my cousin [Johnny Dingle] is going there and I think I can play right away. It's up to me how much I play my first year depending on how hard I want to work and I promise you that I'm going to work hard."

Next Wednesday, Morant will become the first player in school history to sign a Division 1 scholarship and his No. 90 jersey is going to be retired.
