Keels Making Early Noise

At 5-11 and 185-pounds, running back J.J. Keels broke the Florida Air Academy single game rushing record with 256 yards rushing on 17 carries and four touchdowns. Keels possesses great speed at 4.42 and good strength with a 285-pound bench and 450-pound squat.

In four games this season, J.J. Keels has 653 yards rushing and 10 touchdowns. He has one written offer at this time from Florida International.

The Air Academy star talked about the recruiting process to date.

"I have not attended any college games this year but I have received letters of invite from FIU, Michigan, Florida State, Duke, Boston College, Indiana and Florida Atlantic to name a few. I want to commit 100 percent of my time to playing hard so our seniors can leave on a winning note. I think we have a bye at the end of October and maybe I will get the opportunity to attend a game."

Keels has received letters and some interest from the Gators at this time and talked about the champs.

"The University of Florida is a great school and they are in my top five but I am looking more closely at the schools who are making offers. I am only a junior though and a decision of that caliber will be made next season during my senior year. Right now I am enjoying the journey."
