Young NFL Gators Still Catching On

The three young Gator NFL receivers are still making their mark in the NFL. Andre Caldwell, Percy Harvin, and Louis Murphy have all had a great 2009 season so far for their respective teams. All three were part of the 2006 Gator national championship team and Harvin and Murphy left Florida with two rings. They continue to make Gators proud.

Urban Meyer and the Florida Gators can take pride in helping mold three of the NFL's bright young stars at receiver. The three are constantly making a name for themselves as this 2009 season progresses.

He finished the day with 42 yards on three receptions, seven yards on his only rush attempt and 167 return yards on five attempts. Harvin leads the NFL with a 29.8 yard average on kickoff returns. His 685 return yards ranks fourth and he is the only player in the league with two kickoff returns for touchdowns. Harvin is second on the team with 285 receiving yards, he also has the third most rushing attempts on the team.

Louis Murphy (Oakland Raiders) started and led the Raiders in receiving with four receptions and 58 yards in the 38-0 loss to the New York Jets. Murphy is currently second on the team in receptions (16), receiving yards (232) and receiving touchdowns (1).
