Westerman Plans Trip to UF in March

At 6-5 and 290-pounds, Christian Westerman from Hamilton (AZ) Chandler is one of the top players from the class of 2011. Chandler remains perfect with a 9-0 record and Westerman is certainly a large part of the on field success.

"We are 9-0 and have already clinched the first region championship, on our way to another state title," Westerman said.

Christian Westerman holds 17 offers with the latest written offers coming from Miami and Oklahoma. Florida, USC, Arizona State and Texas are recruiting him the most right now and the Longhorn offensive line coach was in attendance during the Texas bye weekend.

"I have been to Arizona State, Oregon State game and Arizona State and the Cal game yesterday. I will attend the USC/Arizona State game this weekend in Tempe."

Westerman talked about teams he would like to hear more from.

"Maybe Ohio State, Alabama, Auburn and some others. I am pretty 'stoked' and grateful for my offers so far though. Florida, Texas, USC, Nebraska, Oklahoma and Miami, hard to get much better than those kind of offers."

Westerman is one of the top offensive tackles in the nation for 2011 and talked about his strengths on the field.

"Explosive get off, quick feet, solid pass protection. Domination and pancake blocks make me happy. I want to continue to just work on consistency, quick get off and staying on blocks."

Westerman and his family will be spending spring break (March) in Florida and will spend a few days at the University of Florida.

"I am just enjoying my junior year and want to win another 5A title. I want to work hard to be a part of this team and be accountable to my teammates and coaches. My family and I are planning a trip to Gainesville over our spring break. We will travel to Florida as a family to take a vacation and visit the University for a few days, travel to the beach and maybe even take in Disney World for a few days. My parents are planning that right now."
