Fulton Takes in The Swamp

The nation's No. 5 ranked cornerback prospect is Manning (SC) superstar John Fulton. Fulton took his official visit to the University of Florida yesterday with his mother and a friend of the family. A 6-0 and 180-pound lock down corner with legit 4.4 speed is very aggressive and loves to play man coverage when the opportunity presents itself. Fulton spoke about his recent visit with the champs.

"We arrived in Gainesville around 1:00 p.m. yesterday with my mom and I and a friend of hers," Johnavon Fulton said. "We ate as soon as we got there and then went up and met with all the coaches. It was real nice and all the coaches were excited that we came down."

The relationship between the head coach and potential prospects is very important but equally as important is the relationship between the player and his position coach, in this case Coach Vance Bedford.

"We spent a long time with Coach Bedford talking about his style and technique and stuff like that. We hung out and talked with Coach Carter for a long time and also with Coach Meyer. I hit it off great with Coach Meyer and he was talking to us about academics and some other stuff. My mom didn't really like Florida coming done but that's changed. She really loves Florida, she loves it."

Even though Fulton was only on campus around 24 hours or so his time spent with the Gators was all accounted for.

"After we spent time with the coaches we watched the Gator Walk and that was crazy. I don't know how many fans were out there but it was great. I went onto the field later and talked with some of the players and had a chance to spend a good bit of time with Brandon Spikes. He was talking to me about the kind of confidence you must have to play at a school like Florida. When we were talking a camera must have been on us because I made Sports Center and when it happened a bunch of people from back home were blowing me up."

Fulton enjoyed everything about his visit but one part stood out above all else.

"The best part I think was spending time with the players like Janoris and Joe. They both were saying how great a coach that Coach B is and how great the technique is he teaches."

Fulton will get a chance to watch the Gators two weeks in a row as he is set to take his official visit to South Carolina on Saturday as they host the nation's No. 1 ranked team.

"I am taking my official visit to South Carolina next weekend when they play Florida and that should be my last official visit. I might take one to Tennessee at the end of the month but this will probably be my last visit this weekend."
