Gators Focused Heading to South Carolina

The Florida Gators have dealt with their fair of off-the-field issues this season, but as the season has continued, it has become easier for head coach Urban Meyer to keep his team focused. This week, the big storyline has been the fifth annual "Gators take on their former head coach Steve Spurrier" game.

With the Alabama game looming, Meyer is making sure his team does not look ahead to SEC Championship Game.

"After the Georgia win, we dealt with that. Not now. We are treating this like a championship weekend, which in our minds it is," Meyer said.

The chance to play for a national title is what Meyer said has made it easier to keep his team focused despite the distractions.

Even though the Gators are national title contender every year now, Meyer has experience the other side.

"I've been on staffs in places where it's really hard when you're not," Meyer said.

- S Dorian Munroe reinjured his ACL against Georgia and could be out for the year. "I'm pretty sure he's done for the year."

- CB Moses Jenkins returned to practice this week after being out since suffering a concussion at Kentucky on Sept. 26. "Moses Jenkins practiced, but I don't believe he's cleared. He's getting a little better. It's good to see that."

- Meyer said LB Brandon Hicks was full speed at practice and will be available to Saturday's game.

- WR Andre Debose's rehab is progressing, and he is getting closer to running around on his surgically repaired hamstring. "I would grade him a B, but I expect him to be an A in the weight room. I think he is going to start moving around, running around next week."

- South Carolina will be dressing in camouflage uniforms Saturday as part of its Wounded Warrior Project. "I read about it. It's a great idea. I'm in support of it. It's a great thing to do."

- Meyer again discussed what the Gators need to do better to break off a big play on offense. "There's a reason why you don't or do have big plays. Number one is personnel and I like our personnel. Number two is you can't sustain a block long enough or you don't pull through a tackle or you don't make a catch. It's a multitude of reasons."
