Stars will be out of Florida/FSU

Tim Tebow and Brandon Spikes will be playing their last home game this weekend as the No. 1 ranked Florida Gators host Florida State in a nationally televised game. The game is merely an afterthought as the storyline has become Tebow/Spikes playing one more game in the place they call home.

The Swamp will be a magical place on Saturday filled with emotions as the Gators take on in-state archrival Florida State, a game that used to be contested from the opening kickoff. The outcome of the game has yet to be decided or has it? What used to be one of the most fierce and anticipated games by both sides has only one side of fans anticipating this weekend's contest, the Florida Gator fans.

This weekend will also serve as a huge recruiting weekend for head coach Urban Meyer and the rest of the staff as 12 players are set to take official visits to The Swamp. The Gators will host four five-star players in wide receivers Adrian Coxson, Kenny Stills and Christian Green as well as five-star defensive end Chris Martin. Seven four-star players are set to take official visits this weekend as Gerald Christian, Chaz Green, Ivan McCartney, Owamagbe Odighizuwa, Solomon Patton, Cody Riggs and Jaylen Watkins will all be in town.

Three-star defensive tackle Jonathan Hankins will make his official visit to Gainesville this weekend in addition to numerous top tier unofficial visitors.

Five-star players such as Mack Brown, Lamarcus Joyner, Matt Elam, Chris Dunkley and Jeff Luc are scheduled to attend. With a surprise or two the total number of five-star players could reach double digits before the weekend is through.

Trey Burton, Ian Silberman, Jordan Haden and Neiron Ball are a few more committed players that will be in town.

The Gators are sitting on 18 verbal commitments for the class of 2010 and one for 2011 with Pop Saunders. With the class approaching full it has become fast and furious with top prospects lining up for position to make their way into this year's class. Over the next three weeks the Gators will have two huge recruiting weekends that will determine the outcome of how the class of 2010 plays out.

Later in the week will take a look at each official visitor on an individual basis with in depth scouting reports and what each player brings to the table.
