Higdon's Take: Owamagbe Odighizuwa

At 6-3 and 235-pounds, Owamagbe Odighizuwa from Portland (OR) David Douglass High School is one of the top defensive ends in the country. He recently visited Gainesville when the Gators hosted in-state rival Florida State.

The trip became a business trip for Owamagbe Odighizuwa, not wanting to get caught up in the hype of the game or Tebow's last game it was strictly business. Owa was looking for a much deeper and meaningful purpose other than the atmosphere surrounding 90,000 fans on gameday.

Anytime you have a player that stays in touch with the Florida coaching staff as much as Owa does one would think the Gators have a real shot. When I spoke with him after his official visit to Gainesville he didn't seem to make the connection with the coaches like I thought he would. Maybe it was the long trip or the fact that he was in an environment he wasn't familiar with.

Owa has always maintained that if he left the state that he would probably end up at either Nebraska or Florida. The third and final team in my opinion to watch out for is UCLA. If NSD was today I believe Owa would end up at Nebraska.

Clearly things could change once the Florida coaches make in home visits with Owa and his mother but right now I give the edge to Bo Pellini and Nebraska.
