1's and 5's are Wild on Official Visit List

The Florida Gators have a star studded high school prospect visitor list for this coming weekend. While Florida students prepare for finals, some of the nation's best football players will be getting the royal treatment by the football staff and players. The numbers one and five play a prominent role with the group and urban Meyer and company would like to capitalize on their presence.

The No. 1 is represented by three players that are the very best at their respective positions among Scout.com's ranking of prospects. Palm Beach Dwyer safety Matt Elam is the top safety in the land and is currently committed to Florida and Ft. Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas' Brandon Linder is listed as the top center in America.

This should be the weekend to seal up Elam who has been talking of looking elsewhere for quite some tie. In the last couple of days he has firmed up his commitment. Linder is one that seems to change depending on the season, there are times when it seemed he was favoring Florida and other times it didn't seem that way. Right now, he seems highly interested. Don't rule Linder out as a tackle.

The No. 5 is represented as Elam is a five-star prospect and the Gators also are expecting visits from two others in wide receiver Chris Dunkley of Pahokee and linebacker Jordan Hicks of Westchester (OH).

Dunkley has been rumored to be leaning to Florida for most of the recruiting process. Blessed with tremendous receiver skills Dunkley is no doubt the top receiver on the board for the Gators. Hicks has been a different recruitment altogether. Supposedly down to Texas and Florida, Hicks will come in this weekend and be recruited supposedly with Florida not having a linebacker coach. Hicks has never really publicly stated a leader.

More big time talent will also be on hand as offensive tackle and Gator commitments Ian Silberman of Orange Park Fleming Island, cornerback Jaylen Watkins of Cape Coral, and athlete Travon Van of New Berlin (NY) Milford Prep represent four-star prospects in attendance and are expected in for their official visit. Receiver Justin Hunter of Virginia Beach (VA) is another very talented four-star receiver as well and should be in.

Silberman is one of the more under heralded prospects in the class. Florida moved on hims early after they saw his talent in camp. Watkins is a blur and a huge athlete for the cornerback position. Van could play a lot of places on the field and is a true athlete with blazing speed.

Venice quarterback Trey Burton is a Florida commit and is expected to see his three stars rise soon with his stellar senior season. He will be helping recruit many of the above named stars in attendance along with three star athlete Robert Clark of Dwyer who is visiting with teammate Elam.

Burton is the perfect fit for the Meyer led Gator offense. His ability to run with the ball and throw from the run are superb. Clark, who is committed to West Virginia is a relatively new offer and will be one of the fastest Gators in the class if he commits. That says a lot and the fact he can return kicks is a bonus as well. He could play offense or defense down the line.

This is a big weekend as the Gators expect to land many of these visitors on signing day.
