Tebow by the Incredible Numbers

Just about everything that can be said about Tim Tebow has been said. One of the greatest careers in college football history came to a glorious close Friday night as Tebow set Sugar Bowl and BCS Bowl records in Florida's 52-24 route of Cincinnati. Tebow's performance was a fitting end to a career that re-wrote record books at Florida, in the SEC and the NCAA.

Tim Tebow has set marks that may never be threatened, and led his team to the first back-to-back 13-win seasons in major college football history. Tebow and the rest of the senior class of 2009 will leave with an SEC record 47 wins against just eight losses.

It's hard to rank Tebow's accomplishments and equally difficult to limit the list of accomplishments. So here I offer up the most appropriate numbers of his career; the 15 most remarkable numbers from the career of No. 15.

1 ------- Heisman Trophy and Campbell Award (aka: Academic Heisman)

2 ------- Maxwell Awards (National Player of the Year)

3 ------- Top five finishes in Heisman Trophy voting, joining Glenn Davis (Army) and Herschel Walker (Georgia)

4 ------ Consecutive victories over Florida State and Tennessee

5.5 ------ Tebow's career TD/INT ratio. That's far superior to impressive marks posted by Wuerffel (2.71), Rex Grossman (2.14) and (Leak (2.09)

7 ------- Combined TD (5 rush/2 pass) in 51-31 win over South Carolina in 2007. the rushing TD se a UF mark and the combined TD tied the school record

16 ------ The total number of interceptions he threw in his Gator career. That's in 995 career attempts. His interception percentage of 1.61 is almost half the next best mark in Gator history (Chris Leak 2.88)

30 ----- Wins in his final 33 games

32/23 ---- The breakdown of passing and rushing TD in 2007. It marked the first 20/20 season in major college history

88/57 ---- The breakdown of his passing and rushing scores. No player in major college history had ever reached 50 in each category

127 ------ Points scored in three starts against FSU. It's the most points in any three game period in the history of the Florida/FSU rivalry

143 ------ The number of combined rushing and passing touchdowns. The previous SEC record was 122 (Danny Wuerffel) and Tebow shattered it

482 ------ Passing yards against Cincinnati in the Sugar Bowl. That's a UF, SEC and BCS Bowl single game record and it came against an undefeated opponent

2,957 ---- Career rushing yards, another SEC record for a quarterback. What makes this number so remarkable is that Tebow is pretty easy for defensives to find and key on, yet he kept racking up the yards. He actually gained 3,360 yards but college football rules take away 413 in sacks

11,232 --- Tebow set a new SEC mark for total offense despite wearing the largest bulls-eye in college football history

There may be some Tebow numbers you like better and I'm glad to see the feedback. But those are some remarkable accomplishments.
