Spurrier Reacts to Edwards Hire

With George Edwards having been officially named as Florida's defensive coordinator and inside linebackers coach, FightinGators.com got reaction from the man who originally brought Edwards to Gainesville. Steve Spurrier coached Edwards at Duke and had him on his staff both at Florida in 1991 and during his two-year stint with the Washington Redskins.

Here's what the former Gator and current South Carolina head man had to say about Edwards:

"He's an outstanding coach and one of my favorite former players. I'm proud of George Edwards. As a student athlete at Duke, he was the leading tackler on our 1989 ACC Championship team. I'm also proud of what he's accomplished in his coaching career. I predict he will do an outstanding job down there."
