Ajagbe Bonding with Future Teammates

It has been a long road for 6-2, 205-pound Coconut Grove (FL) Ransom Everglades linebacker Gideon Ajagbe. This past weekend Ajagbe made his official visit to the University of Florida.

"I came up by myself because my family couldn't come up," Gideon Ajagbe said. "When I first got here we went to dinner on Friday night and talked with my host Trey Burton and David Young and had a great night and talked about how everything was going and how we work out. They were telling me about the workouts under Mariotti and how awesome it was and I can't wait to be a part of that."

For many prospects in town this past weekend it was business as usual, but for Ajagbe he was a kid in a candy store.

"It was amazing for sure. There were times when it felt like it was too good to be true. We were talking about having the best class in America. We had a great time talking and it was amazing I couldn't believe all of us were at the same place at the same time. It's going to be us, we are all going to be together for a long time. If anyone had doubts before this trip they don't have doubts anymore.

"All the talk in the car rides was 45-0 and win every game we play and win every national and SEC title we can. All Mack was talking about was going 45-0. It was great. That is not realistic but that is the attitude that we all have and everyone is on the same page. It was an amazing weekend."

With some new coaches in place Ajagbe took advantage to spend some time with his new position coach, outside linebacker coach D.J. Durkin.

"I talked to coach Meyer and we talked a bunch about his life and things like that and it was great. I had a great talk with coach Durkin yesterday with Darrin Kitchens. He put our highlight tape in and showed us what he wants us to work on. He talked about what he likes in linebackers and he wants his guys to play hard be tough and know what you are doing. As long as you know that then you will play regardless of what class you are. He wants you to come in and compete and go full speed. He is not worried about my weight right now he is more worried about the skill level and how good I get with my work ethic and knowing what to do."

Saturday was more of the same as Ajagbe continued to have a great weekend.

"Saturday we did all the tours and went to coach Meyer's house for dinner playing video games and stuff like that. It was coach Edwards's birthday and Dominique Easley is a clown man he is real funny he was walking around singing and stuff everybody loves him. I am not sure what we have planned for the rest of the trip but I am sure it will be awesome."
