At Least Three Expected to Visit UF

The Florida Gators, fresh off of a big recruiting weekend that saw a dozen prospects visit will host only three or so prospects this weekend. This is the big weekend for All-American and five-star defensive end Ronald Powell to make his official visit to the Gators. He will be the headliner with some added suspense with a new quarterback visiting starting Friday.

Ronald Powell is set to make his fourth visit to Gainesville this weekend and this time the University of Florida can pick up the tab. All the way from Moreno Valley, Calif., Powell brings his's No. 1 defensive end ranking back to Gainesville where he has visited three other times out of his own pocket.

Powell is a huge get for the Florida Gators after he pledged to be a Gator at the Army All-American game in San Antonio earlier this month. He has a chance to step right in to a starting role with the departure of both of Florida's starting defensive ends.

Another Gator commitment due in is Tampa Blake tight end Mike McFarland who recently earned his fourth star on McFarland has been committed to the Gators since March and has remained true to that commitment throughout. He played defensive end and tight end at Blake and has the body to get much bigger than his 6-6, 220 pounds he stands at now.

The first surprise of the weekend visit list is Tyler Murphy of Wethersfield, Conn. Murphy is a strong armed quarterback that also has the wheels to move well with the ball in his hands. Currently committed to Temple, he marks the third player in three weeks committed to another school that will be visiting the Gators.

The Gators entertained two prospects on January 5 when Tennessee commitment Michael Taylor came in and eventually switched his commitment to the Gators. The visit was kept quiet for most of the weekend and eventually got out. The same thing was done last week with receiver James Louis, an Ohio State commitment. Louis currently remains committed to the Buckeyes, but there is still a week and a half left in the process.

Will the Gators have another visitor in that the public doesn't know about just yet? Odds are that is exactly what will happen. Stay tuned as we pay close attention to this visit weekend with Florida Gators' football.
