McFarland Back from Gainesville

Four-star tight end and current Florida Gator commitment Michael McFarland took his official visit to Gainesville this past weekend.

"It went great," Michael McFarland said.

The 6-6 and 230-pound tight end form Tampa (FL) Blake High school was hosted by 2010 offensive tackle Ian Silberman.

"All of us had a blast, Tyler told me he was committing this morning. All the recruits went out to a birthday party. I was hanging out with Leon, Ian, Tyler and Xavier. There were a bunch of football players there so we got to see some of those guys. After we all just hung out."

McFarland was a late arrival to Gainesville due to a basketball game.

"Friday I had a basketball game and ended with a triple double (23 points, 16 boards and 11 blocks) and after the game we went to Gainesville about midnight and checked in at the hotel. In the morning the whole coaching staff was there at that hotel eating breakfast with Ronald Powell, Tyler Murphy and everyone. After that we toured around the school and stuff like that then we went back to have some lunch and all the food was great.

"Ian was my and Tyler's host and the birthday party was real cool that was a bunch of fun. This morning I went in with coach White and he talked to me about playing the position and stuff like that. After I graduate in June I get a few months to bulk up and add some weight so I will come in next January but will still be part of the 2010 class."
