Kitchens is a Gator

The Florida Gators added another stellar linebacker to their recruiting class when Homestead's Darrin kitchens committed publicly to the gators in an assembly at his school. Kitchens is a blur of an outside linebacker and led all of Dade County in sacks in 2009. He marks the 26th commitment for Florida in the 2010 class.

Darrin Kitchens waited until signing day to announce that he wanted to be a Gator. Florida went into Dade County for the third prospect this recruiting season and walked away with another playmaker. Kitchens.

At 6-2, 215 pounds Kitchens brings the heat off the edge and can run with the best linebackers in the class of 2010. Florida was lacking the numbers at the linebacker position and beat out Florida State, Syracuse, and a slew of other offers that Kitchens had.

He told Jason Higdon, "I will be sending in my fax at 10 a.m.", indicating that he will finalize the transaction of his recruitment when his LOI is received at the football offices at Florida.

"All the schools were great schools and they have great kids and coaches but when I came to Florida I had a feeling that's what I was going to do," Kitchens said. "The relationship is great because I started to bond with the players and we were looking out for each other and as players and coaches it was a great atmosphere and my family felt great. I feel like I can get it done. It don't matter to me what position I play and I think my biggest thing is my speed and determination. They want me at 225 and OLB and right I am at 210. The best part about being a Gator I think is my family is going to be able to see my play and experience this with me."
