4-Star Corner Talks Gators

Groveland (FL) South Lake superstar Nick Waisome recently attended junior day at the University of Florida. FightinGators.com caught up with the nation's No. 8 ranked cornerback prospect.

Nick Waisome is one of the top cover corners in the state of Florida and checks in at 5-10 and 172-pounds. He ended his junior season with more than 65 tackles and 18 pass breakups. Currently he holds offers from Florida, Florida State, Central Florida, Miami, South Carolina, North Carolina State, Duke, Stanford, Louisville and Ole Miss to name a few.

"I came to the junior day with my mom. She enjoyed it and thought it was very exciting. Overall I had a great trip. I was thinking about how it would go without Coach Bedford there and it went well. Coach Heater and I got along real cool and I also spent a lot of time with my recruiting coach, Coach McCarney. He was real cool and made me feel really comfortable around the campus. I got to see exactly how they use their defensive backs and what they are looking for."

Waisome was able to spend some time with interim head coach Steve Addazio.

"I talked a little with Coach Addazio and he just wanted to make sure I asked questions and figured out things that were going on and enjoy myself. My biggest relationship with the school now will be with Coach Heater and I was in his back pocket the whole day."

Waisome was able to spend some quality time with other prospects in attendance.

"The vibe between the recruits was fine. I was hanging out with Chris Johnson from Trinity Catholic a lot and with Hasean-Clinton Dix I just found out not too long ago that we went to the same middle school together but I didn't know until I saw him in person at the seven on seven badger sports practice. We are playing together on the same Central Florida team but hung out with each other at the junior day a little."
