Ryan Shazier Recruiting File

Plantation (FL)superstar Ryan Shazier is one of the most recent players to pick up an offer from the Florida Gators. A 6-3, 205-pound defensive end/tight end he is getting looked at for the outside linebacker position with many teams including the Gators.

Ryan Shazier has a great frame to work with that could easily carry another 20-pounds putting him in that 6-3 and 225-230 range at the next level, which is ideal for the linebacker position.

Florida State was the first team to offer him but he spent time in Texas as a kid, so it won't shock people if he were to leave the state.

Currently holding offers from Florida, Florida State, Mississippi State, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Florida, Tennessee and Wisconsin this is only the beginning for Shazier. He has only begun to reach his potential. He has a great first step, plays with great leverage and pad level that allows him to go inside or outside and once he finds the ball he explodes with great acceleration. Shazier is very quick off the edge and gives opposing offensive tackles fits trying to get their hands on him.

As is the case with most high school defensive players he will need to build up his upper body and add strength but if he reaches that 230-pound mark and keeps his speed he could be a terror on the defensive side of the ball. As it currently stands he will visit the Gators during spring practice.
