Bailey is one of the Best for 2011

At 6-4 and 235-pounds, defensive end Sterling Bailey is one of the top defensive ends in the state of Georgia. The Gainesville (GA) East Hall superstar has offers from some of the top programs in the country.

Sterling Bailey was one of a select group of recruits that was speaking to head coach Urban Meyer on a regular basis over the last few months. As an underclassmen garnering attention from the head coach of the University of Florida or any other major D-1 school shows how important a prospect he is at this time.

Bailey was scheduled to attend the Florida junior day but weather postponed that visit to later this spring. He will schedule a trip for some time during the month of March or April.

Bailey is one of the top players in the Peach State for the class of 2011 and ended his junior season with 64 tackles, 25 for a loss, five sacks, two forced fumbles and one blocked field goal.

At the end of the day this is one that the Gators could land. There is a ton of great defensive ends in the state of Georgia this year and the Bulldogs can't take them all.

Bailey checks in at No. 23 in the top 50 in the state of Georgia according to and is one to watch. Take:
Bailey is a very athletic defensive end that could play outside linebacker in some schemes. He has the frame that he could possibly grow into an offensive tackle as well if he chose to. His biggest strengths are athleticism and pursuing the football. He needs to add strength, work on getting off the blocks, and just working on his initial punch. Athletically, he has the tools coaches look for at end. - South Recruiting Manager Chad Simmons
