Isaiah Crowell: Inside Take

Five-star running back Isaiah Crowell is one of the top running backs in the country for the class of 2011. At 5-11 and 210-pounds with 4.45 speed he is blessed with the total package. Crowell from Columbus (GA) Carver has offers from every major team in the country.

The top ranked running back in the Peach State and the Southeast region, Isaiah Crowell has the Alabama Crimson Tide at the top. For Florida fans this can and will have an impact on the Gators and the tailback position. Crowell is the top target at the running back position for both Alabama and Georgia. Running back Mike Bellamy is also currently looking at Alabama, Georgia as well as Florida.

Bellamy will not go to school where another top tailback decides to attend. As good as Bellamy is he wants to go somewhere with the best chance of starting. If Crowell decides to pick Alabama (current leader) then watch the Bulldogs make a strong push for Mike Bellamy. If Georgia were to land Crowell then Alabama becomes a major player for the services of Bellamy. If you are a Florida fan what you want to happen is Kenny Williams goes to Alabama pushing Crowell back to Georgia leaving Mike Bellamy starring the Gators square in the face.

Bellamy has always had the Gators at the top of his list and they are his top team but he is the most familiar with the Gators depth at the position. He knows Jeff Demps, Chris Rainey, Mike Gillislee and Mack Brown, jr as well as Emanuel Moody. He knows that four of the five will all be back next season during his first season with the Gators. Bellamy's sophomore season would have only he and Gillisleee and Brown.

A look at either Georgia or Alabama would put Bellamy in no more of a favorable position. The sooner that he understands that the better off he will be. Mike Bellamy can't walk into Florida, Georgia or Alabama and start, period. Starting is his main goal and that's a great goal to have but at some point one needs to be realistic.

Isaiah Crowell has never been a big fan of the Gators and will not give them a serious look. He is not going to give Florida serious consideration even if he visits. At this point in the recruiting season Florida fans need not concern themselves with the five-star running back from Georgia. Take:

Crowell has been part of a talented backfield throughout his high school career so he has never had to carry the load. That is one question about his game, but there are not many more. He has great balance, he can make quick cuts without losing speed, and he is a threat to take it the distance from anywhere on the field. - Southeastern Recruiting Analyst Chad Simmons
