"Florida came down today and they offered," Chris Jones said. "It feels great."
Jones, a 5-10 and 175-pound defensive back from Adamsville (AL) Minor has had Auburn, Florida and Tennessee near or at the top of his list for some time now and all three have extended offers.
Jones also holds offers from Georgia Tech, Iowa, Louisville, Memphis, Mississippi, Texas A&M, UCLA and Vanderbilt.
Jones has had three near the top of his list for as long as I can remember with the Vols, Gators and Tigers of Auburn. Of those three the Gators were the only ones who had not extended an offer until today. The fact that Jones visited Gainesville and loved it and still had them ranked high without the offer is a good sign. Now that the Gators have offered they will be the team to beat but watch out for Auburn here as Jones has great relations with the Auburn coaching staff and they are the in state school. His parents were very excited when they heard the news today about the Florida offer and in the end I think the Gators will be tough to overcome with the Jones family. Remember it is only May and plenty of things will change between now and NSD 2011.
