Peach State Star Working Hard

At 6-2 and 180-pounds, Peach State star Alex Chisum from Tyrone (GA) Sandy Creek is one to watch for 2011. Chisum holds offers from Cincinnati, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisville and Mississippi State.

"We got our helmet and shoulder pads today," Alex Chisum said. "I am so ready for spring practice. I have been training with Carl Lane (Braxton Lane's dad). My route running is top notch. I'm at 190 pounds, and I'm much faster. My bench is up to 290 and like Carl tells me I should be preparing for college now.

"Cincinnati is showing me the most love and I like them a lot as well. I know after spring ball and the two Nike combines that I have left many other schools will contact me. I received offers from West Virginia and Indiana last week. Kentucky and Louisville continue to recruit me very hard.

"Last year I was happy to contribute in any way to win a state title; I blocked for Rejon and really got good at it. Blocking has become one of my strong points. With two other D1 recruits on the team last year the ball was spread around, but this year I intend on finishing my high school career with over 1,000 yards and another state title. My twin Brother will be starting at Sam LB and CB; he's a beast. Don't be surprised if I play some safety with him. This will be the first time we have started on defense together sense park ball."
