Nick Stoner Gaining Attention

The 6-1, 160-pound defensive back with 4.42 speed, Nick Stoner, checks in from Greenwood (IN) Center Grove. Nick Stoner holds offers from Iowa State, Indiana, Louisville, Toledo, Illinois State and Illinois.

His teammate defensive tackle Joel Hale is being recruited by the Gators, will Nick Stoner be next?

"Indiana, Louisville, Minnesota, Western Kentucky, Notre Dame, Illinois, Michigan State, Michigan, Ball State, Western Michigan, Tennessee, Iowa, Colorado, Army and Air Force came by the school and it went awesome. I really liked each and every coach I saw."

Stoner was able to get to two schools in particular this past spring.

"I have been to spring practices at Indiana and Ball State because I have a tight schedule for track. It was cool seeing how they run their practices and everything. Seeing the competition and how I would fit in to those schools is pretty cool. Indiana and Iowa State really are showing me love allot, because I receive a lot of letters hand written from them, along with Ball State but mostly Indiana and Iowa State. I have called and talked with these coaches so it's good to have that relationship with them, and just getting little notes from the whole coaching staff also shows a lot of appreciation from them to me."

One team Stoner has not heard much from at this time is the University of Florida.

"I think Florida is an awesome football program and just good school in general. They have been tough these past few years being led by Tebow and before that with Chris Leak, they really have things going their way down there in Florida."
