Ryan Shazier spent time in Texas as a child and Florida State was the first to offer but neither made the final five.
"North Carolina, Florida, South Florida, Ohio State and UCLA are my top five schools."
Shazier talked about each of his final five teams.
North Carolina: "I like the coaching staff, facilities and depth chart. I think I can go there and help the program and I they aren't that far from home."
Florida: "It's close to home so my dad can drive to all my games on Saturday and still get home in time to preach on Sunday mornings. They have a great coaching staff, everyone in my neighborhood loves Florida. All the players at Florida click because they all know each other."
South Florida: "They are on the rise and have a good broadcasting program. I want to go into broadcasting and I also think I can help the program."
Ohio State: "It's far from home but I can grow being away from my parents a little bit. They also need some help at linebacker and they have a good coaching staff. They are always at the top of their conference."
UCLA: "It's far but I can help them. They do good in the conference and they are expanding and I can help them get over the edge with USC and they have wonderful facilities."
Shazier is not sure when he may announce his decision.
"I am really not sure as far as making my decision goes. It could come before the summer is over or the end of my season. I just need to talk it over with my dad and everything. We might take some visits."
