"It was an honor to work out for the UF coaches," Hunter Joyer Said.
"I could say it was pretty obvious that the staff was impressed with me last time I was up there working out and they had a bunch of coaches watching me."
Joyer called coach Dan McCarney upon his return home and heard the good news.
"They told me that they liked me when I was there and when I got home I called coach McCarney and he told me about the offer. I told him the news that I was committing to the University of Florida. He was pretty happy but he has known that I wanted to be a Gator so he wasn't too surprised. When he found out that they were going to offer he knew I was going to be a Gator but he was pretty happy. Coach Mac told me he is glad I am part of the Gator family and he is ready for me to come up there. I wish that I could be up there right now working out, we had a great talk."
Joyer is one of the strongest high school football players in the class of 2011. He has a bench press of 495-pounds, squat of 550-pounds and 315-pound clean and jerk.
