Gators Land Another Star from Northeast

After taking another trip to Gainesville, four-star offensive lineman Tommy Jordan of Ridgefield (CT) has made a decision. The 6-5, 295-pound offensive tackle has committed to head coach Urban Meyer and the Florida Gators.

"When I was down there I told them that I was 95%," Tommy Jordan said. "My parents knew where I wanted to go and that's Florida. But the one thing I wanted to make sure of was that my head coach wasn't with us on the trip, and I wanted to talk to him first."

After a morning chat with his high school coach, Jordan made the call to the coaching staff earlier today.

"I went to see my head coach this morning, and I talked everything over with him. Then I made the call to Coach Meyer and Addazio and told them the news."

"Coach Meyer congratulated me and was real happy and he told me to hurry up and get down there because we have work to do."

Even though Meyer is excited for Jordan to come to Gainesville, he knows that he's still got a year left in high school and made sure that he expected Jordan to finish it off right.

"Coach Meyer told me go win a state title. I think that's real important for him to say because he knows that I'm going to get down there when I get down there, but he doesn't want me to lose focus on the task at hand."
