FNL Player Preview: Trip Thurman

Trip Thurman has made multiple trips to the University of Florida and will return yet again for Friday Night Lights. The 6-6, 310-pound offensive lineman will make the trip with his mom and dad. Thurman, from Dover (DE) answered any and all questions about his ability to play the offensive line position when he participated at camp in mid-June.

Trip Thurman holds offers from some of the top programs in America such as Boston College, Buffalo, Cincinnati, Clemson, Connecticut, Delaware, Duke, Florida, Maryland, North Carolina State, Rutgers, South Carolina, Syracuse, Temple, Vanderbilt, Virginia, West Virginia and Wisconsin.

My Take: Trip Thurman has strong ties to Tennessee with his father growing up in Knoxville and his mother attended Tennessee. However, don't look for the younger Thurman to end up in Knoxville as it does not appear to be the right fit for him. He has made several trips to Florida, Duke and likes the Rutgers program. The Gators are squarely in the driver seat on this one and it could end sooner rather than later. If Thurman ends up elsewhere on National Signing Day it will be somewhat of a surprise. Thurman has also had the opportunity to speak with more than a few 2011 Gator commitments about the possibility of joining them in The Swamp.
Scout.com Biography:
Thurman was named first-team All-Conference at both offensive tackle and defensive end as a junior.
