One of the top prospects from the state of Florida is running back Bobby Washington. The senior to be likes the Florida Gators among some other schools.

One of the top prospects from the Sunshine State among the Class of 2003 is running back Bobby Washington from Miami (Fla.) Killian High School. Washington, 6-1 and 200 pounds, rushed for over 1,500 yards and 20 scores last season as a junior.

"I think I have a great combination of moves and power," said Washington. "It is like a one-two punch. My favorite thing is to put a move on someone in the open field because I can do it at my top speed. I also have good hands and block fairly well too."

Washington actually started at wide receiver his 10th grade season before making the switch to running back. According to Washington, Ohio State and Rutgers have offered him a scholarship so far but there will be plenty more in the coming weeks and months.

"Right now I like Florida, Miami, Florida State and Ohio State. I prefer to stay in-state but I think my mom wants me to leave and experience something new. I am looking at playing time and being comfortable. I know there will always be competition but I will always work hard to get a spot."

Washington has a big senior goal for his final year of high school ball. He wants to break Frank Gore's single season rushing record. "I want to lead the county (Dade) in rushing and break his record. I will need around 3,000 yards and that's my goal. Frank is hoping I break it. He is pushing me too."

Washington is also a cousin with former FSU standout and current Oakland Raider safety Derrick Gibson.
