FNL Player Preview: Anthony Rabasa

Anthony Rabasa, a 6-3 and 235-pound defensive end from Miami (FL) Christopher Columbus, is coming to Gainesville with something to prove.

"Just going to go out there and try and dominate the whole thing," Anthony Rabasa said jokingly about his expectations on next week's Friday Night Lights' performance.

Rabasa currently holds offers from Auburn, Duke, Florida, Florida International, Florida State, Illinois, LSU, Maryland, Memphis, Miami, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Carolina State, Notre Dame, Purdue, Rutgers, South Carolina, South Florida, Texas Tech, UCLA and Wake Forest.

My Take:
Rabasa is a very nice looking prospect which is fairly evident by his offer list. He has good strength benching more than 300-pounds and has great lower body strength with a 475-pound squat and 300-pound power clean. He has good speed for the defensive end position running in the 4.7 range.

At the end of the day I think he very well may end up at one of the schools showing the most interest which are Florida State, LSU, UCLA, Rutgers and Miami. It will be very interesting to see how he stacks up and compares to some of the other defensive ends during Friday Night Lights.

Rabasa is a 150 percent effort type of player on each and every play, a true blue collar type of defensive end that will never give up until the whistle blows. With regards to Rabasa and the Gators I think there are still some things that have yet to be decided. He is a "team" player a true clubhouse type of leader that any coach would love to have in the locker room setting an example with his work ethic on and off the field.
