Fowler Family Impressed with Gainesville

Dante Fowler is one of the most promising defensive linemen in the 2012 recruiting class.

The 6-3 and 237-pound defensive end is coming off a very impressive sophomore season, ending the year with more than 60 tackles and 16 sacks as a 15-year-old. He was equally as impressive at Friday Night Lights and with his performance earned himself an offer from the Gators.

Dante Fowler checks in from Saint Petersburg (FL) Catholic. He talked about his recent trip to Gainesville with his mother and father.

"It went real good," Fowler said. "My mom and dad loved it. It went real good. We took the tour of the campus which was amazing. I had a chance to talk one on one with a bunch of the coaches and spent a lot of time talking with Coach Meyer. I mean my mom and dad loved Gainesville. My mom was saying it will be really hard for another school to top that. They fell in love with Florida."

For a player still 15 years of age, he has some very impressive offers, including Mississippi, Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Ohio State, South Florida, Tennessee, Virginia Tech and West Virginia to name a few.

Fowler gave rave reviews about his visit to Florida but there were a few things that stood out.

"Talking and spending time with Coach Meyer and Addazio was the best part. Right now we are talking about defensive end but I am versatile enough to play with my hand down or standing up as an outside linebacker in the 3-4."

This was Fowler's third trip to Florida since the spring game back in April.

"This was my third trip to Florida. My first trip was for the spring game. I am going to come back up to watch a couple of practices and I am going to check out a few games."
