Milikin Starting to Make a Name For Himself

Carlson Milikin is starting to make noise. Already one of the top 50 lacrosse players in the nation, the 2012 standout is also one of the top 50 high school football rising juniors in the state of Virginia. A 6-1 and 180-pound wide receiver/defensive back from Woodberry Forest (VA), Milikin talked about his summer.

"The highlights of my summer were attending FNL, working out for Coach Austin and meeting Coach White," Carlson Milikin said. "Coach Austin asked me to cover A.C. Leonard and Javares McRoy and then I was able to successfully cover them. Coach White and Austin invited me back for the LSU and USC games.

"Football recruiting has started and hearing from UCLA, Harvard, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Vanderbilt, Wake Forest, Penn and Northwestern through my coach. I was offered lacrosse scholarships from UVA and UNC.

Milikin had 30-plus catches as a freshman and gave up only four pass completions as a sophomore. He has played against great competition the last several years (five D-1 players off last year's team) and was not intimidated by the lights of The Swamp. Carlson Milikin will be one to watch moving forward from the class of 2012.
