Pittman is a Gator

One of the nation's finest prospects for the class of 2012 has decided to commit to the Florida Gators. Two-way standout Latroy Pittman, a wide receiver/safety prospect from Citra (FL) North Marion, has great size for a player who has two years of high school football left checking in at 6-1 and 185-pounds.

"It feels great to be a Gator," Latroy Pittman said.

Pittman attended Friday Night Lights, but living so close to Gainesville, he went up again for the Gators' first practice.

"Jeff Driskel was there. I went up with my mom, dad, and little sister. The next day I called Coach Loeffler and committed to Florida. I also talked to Coach Meyer. Coach said, 'welcome to the Gator family.'"

"My parents are real happy because they knew Florida was No. 1 the whole time. It's only 25 minutes from home, and I've always dreamed of playing in The Swamp. All the pressure is off and I don't need to worry about recruiting anymore."

The following day Pittman went up to Florida again to spend some time with the coaches in person as well as his future position coach Zach Azzanni.

"Coach Z was real happy and smiling the whole time. He said I can be an inside or outside receiver at Florida."
