Class of 2013 Glades Day RB Kelvin Taylor showed up big in Daytona on Saturday by helping his team to a 24-12 victory over Twiggs County Georgia. Taylor's return from knee surgery looks promising, but he still understands he has some work to do. Fightin' Gators caught up with Taylor after the game to discuss his health and future recruitment.
knows he has work to do getting his first step going, making meaningful cuts, and infusing a burst of power into his run game. A knee injury that had him miss most of the offseason work he is used to handling, has kept him from hitting his full stride.
Still, he came away with a 100-yard game on 21 carries on Saturday and said he felt good about his health afterward.
As a sophomore, Taylor has a high standard to live up to that he set for himself in his freshman year. In his first year of high school he rushed for 2,597 yards and 47 touchdowns. Taylor isn't backing down, however, and says he's ready for the upcoming season.
