In-State Battle Brewing for Chris Black?

One of the top playmakers in the class of 2012 is Jacksonville (FL) First Coast superstar Chris Black.

Chris Black, a 5-11, 175-pound playmaking wide receiver has offers from Clemson, Florida, Florida State, Georgia and South Carolina.

Black recently named his top two programs with the Seminoles getting the early nod over the Gators followed by the Clemson Tigers. Black grew up a fan of Florida State and as he states they are his leader at this time. He is much more familiar with the Seminoles at this time but is starting to build relationships with the Gator coaching staff. As should be the case with defensive end Dante Fowler this one should come down to the Gators and Seminoles.

Black will have offers from just about every major college football program in the nation by the time it's all said and done. He is a true difference-maker in every sense of the word. While he does have great speed and can run right past defenders it's his toughness that I am most impressed with. Time and time again he makes the tough catch in traffic. He is not worried about defensive players trying to line him up for a big shot his first and foremost goal is to make the catch and secure the ball. Black takes his game to another level once the ball is in the air showing great body control and concentration. He has that ability to go up and get the ball at its highest point and does a good job of extending his arms not allowing the ball to get to his body.

Black has a chance to be a great player in the future. Like most prospects his age he needs to work on adding strength and his cuts in and out of breaks making sure he doesn't round them off but once he does that he could be fantastic.

Black is planning to attend the Florida home opener this Saturday in The Swamp.
