Chris Black on The Swamp

Chris Black, a 2012 wide receiver, is one of the top playmakers in the state of Florida. Black, a 5-11, 185-pound wideout from Jacksonville (FL) First Coast, was on hand as the Gators hosted Miami (OH) earlier today.

"I saw a lot of fans and I watched how they really support the Gators," Chris Black said. "It was really crazy down there and I liked it. Going into the locker room and seeing what it feels like to be a player with the guys that just got done playing was one of the most exciting parts for me."

There has been plenty of speculation regarding which team Black and his family grew up rooting for and he puts the debate to rest.

"My parents loved it as much as me. Of course with my dad being a diehard Gator fan and my mom being a diehard Bulldog fan and she loved it also, she grew up in Waycross, Georgia. There is no doubt I grew up a Florida fan and my dad will play a big role in the decision and playing video games I always play with the Gators and I have definitely been a Gator fan."

For Black sitting in the stands watching today's game he came to a simple conclusion.

"I was watching to see what the wide receiver corp looked like and I can see that I can come here and make a big difference on the offense. I talked to coach Scot Loeffler and he wants my family to come as much as we can so we can sit down with Coach Urban Meyer and take it from there."

Black did not mingle with many recruits but did talk briefly with one current Gator commitment.

"I didn't really get a chance to socialize with any other recruits but I did talk to Pop Saunders."
