MSU Commitment Scoreboard Update Week 5

The MSU commitment scoreboard update is a free weekly feature during football season that allows you, the reader, the chance to see how the Bulldogs-to-be are doing in their final seasons before reporting to Starkville.

It was a wild night for Devin Fosselman and James Maiden. Fosselman has been sidelined with a sprained ankle since a big win over Raymond back in Wilkinson County's second game.

Devin was not scheduled to play tonight and was being held out as a precaution to get him ready for district play next week.

With his team trailing Port Gibson 13-0 at the half, Fosselman dressed out and took the field for the second half of action.

Devin reeled in a handful of important passes and sparked the comeback.

The final drive for Port Gibson was thwarted by the strong play of James Maiden who helped the team hang on for a 20-19 come from behind win.

Devonte Scott rushed for 169 yards and two touchdowns on just eight carries as Ferriday (1-2) won over Vidalia in a battle of winless teams 41-6.

Dak Prescott threw for three touchdowns and ran for two more in just two and a half quarters of work as Haughton (3-0) rolled 48-16 over Woodlawn.

While the boxscore is not available at this time, Josh Robinson and Franklinton (2-1) destroyed Varnado 60-6.

Despite jumping ahead 14-0, Daniel Knox and West Lauderdale lost to Newton County 17-14 dropping their record to 0-5.

Jermaine Whitehead and Amanda-Elzy (2-2) saw their two game winning streak snapped at the hands of rival Greenwood High 31-8.

Nick Redmond and Harrison Central (1-3) continue to struggle as they fail to get on the board tonight in a 24-0 loss to Northeast Jones.

Zachary Jackson and Heidelberg were unable to build on last week's big win over Bay Springs. On Friday the Oilers fell to Magee 35-6.

Joe Morrow hauled in a touchdown pass and had perhaps his best defensive game of the year as Ocean Springs rolled to 3-1 with a 35-14 win over D'iberville.

C.J. Johnson and Philadelphia (4-0) keep their perfect season intact with a 43-19 win over Kosciusko. was on hand for the contest and we will have highlights posted in the coming days.

The newest Bulldog commitment, Bernardrick McKinney, helped current head coach and former MSU player McKinley Scott remain unbeaten with a 28-7 win over Lewisburg.

Justin Cox threw for a score and ran for another as West Point (3-1) got back on track this week with a win over Noxubee County.

Darion Arrington and Rufus Warren both enjoyed bye weeks this week. Rufus and Gentry will take on Justin Cox and West Point next week.
