RepeatThe University of Tennessee reeled back in a prior commitment to the Volunteers when A.J. Johnson (6-foot-3, 227) de-committed after Lane Kiffin departed Knoxville. The Gainesville, Ga. three-star outside linebacker had other scholarship offers from Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Georgia Tech, Stanford and USC. The Red Elephants are 2-1 for the season.
Hotty CommodoresVanderbilt is on a roll with two commitments in the last week. The win against Ole Miss in Oxford will draw a lot of positive energy to head coach Robbie Caldwell and his coaching staff. The Commodores added two Sunshine State running backs in Mitchell Hester (5-foot-10, 180) from Neptune Beach-Fletcher, and J.J. Keels (5-foot-10, 180) from Melbourne-Florida Air Academy. Hester had other offers from Arkansas, FIU, Illnois, Maryland and Northern Illnois. Keels had offers from Cincinnati, Duke, FIU, Maryland, Memphis, Texas Tech and West Virginia. Hester has his Senators with a 2-1 record, while Keels' Falcons are 1-2.
Staying HomeGeorgia Tech keeps one in-state with the commitment of Chris Milton a three-star wide receiver from Folkston-Charlton County. The 6-foot, 175-pound Peach State gem had other scholarship offers from Duke, East Carolina, Illinois, Middle Tennessee, North Carolina, Purdue, South Carolina, South Florida, Tennessee, Vanderbilt and Wake Forest. The Indians are 4-0 for the season.
No Reason to LeaveThe University of Miami picked up two commitments in the class of 2012 from their home-state. Duke Johnson (5-foot-9, 180), running back from Miami-Norland, had 1,540 yards in 2009 with 20 touchdowns. The Vikings are 3-0 for the season. Willie Bailey (6-foot-1, 160), cornerback from Hallandale, has the Chargers at 2-1 for the season.
Go Bulls!South Florida added a commitment from Tye Turner (6-foot-2, 240) who is a tight end prospect from Griffin, Ga. Turner had additional scholarship offers from Georgia Southern, Marshall, Middle Tennessee, Tennessee State, Western Carolina and Western Kentucky. The Bears are 4-0 for the season.
