Catching up with Stefan McClure

The Nation's 6th ranked corner back prospect is Vista (CA) star Stefan McClure. McClure checks in at 5'11 and 180-pound with 4.5 speed.

McClure holds offers from Colorado, Oregon, UCLA, Washington, Arizona, Boise State, Colorado State, Miami, Minnesota, Oregon State and San Diego State.

McClure has visited both Washington and Colorado.

"I took trips to both Washington and Colorado," McClure said. "They were both a little different from each other but I like what they are doing and how the coaches work with the players."

One team that has yet to offer is the Florida Gators.

"I'm still taking with them but still no offer. I have been talking to Washington, Oregon, California, UCLA, Colorado, Oregon State and San Diego State the most this season."

Stefan McClure was an all-state underclass pick in 2009 after helping Vista (Calif.) to the CIF-San Diego Section D-I title game. All-CIF and all-League as a junior. McClure said he's benching 225 pounds, squats 630 and claims a vertical jump of 38".

McClure reports a 3.12 GPA and a 1250 SAT. McClure: "My strengths are in my ability to make plays and attack the ball while it's in the air. I'm a playmaker that knows how to cover people and get downfield on 1-on-1 coverage. I do need to work more on my footwork and just breaking better on the ball. You don't want to have any wasted steps at my position."
