Knox Excited About College Future

Daniel Knox is not having the senior season he envisioned. Knox missed time earlier this year as he recovered from a minor knee ailment only to come back and see his team go winless eight weeks into the campaign. Despite the frustration, Knox is enjoying being a senior and is looking forward to his college future at Mississippi State.

"This past week we played a lot better, but they made big plays and we didn't," explained Daniel. "That's pretty much been the story of our season.

"It's been a tough year for us, but the guys coming back can take something from the work we put in this year and build on it."

Knox reports that he has seen more playing time on the offensive line this year which has only helped him sharpen the skills he will need on the college level.

"I feel like I am playing well," said Daniel. "I have been playing more tackle than tight end. My blocking is getting a lot better.

"I don't even have a catch this year. I have just been working on getting better."

Having to spend some time sidelined with an injury helped Knox cherish the chance to play that much more.

Now that he is back on the field he is beginning to see some gains in his physical abilities.

"I am pretty much back to 100% now," said Daniel. "I honestly feel like I am stronger now than I was before I got hurt. I don't have all of my speed back yet, but that's getting better every week."

Knox pledged his allegiance to the Bulldogs of Mississippi State over the course of the summer and since that time he has not looked back.

"I have been to all of the homes games this year except for the Alcorn State game," said Daniel. "I plan on going to the rest of the home games too.

"It's exciting up there. Everybody is seeing the bright side of things. All of the games have been sell outs and the people in the stands have been crazy.

"When you're winning, it makes everything better."

Knox reports that he and his fellow commitments have enjoyed getting to know each other over the course of the season and they look forward to their futures together.

"We are getting on the same page," said Daniel. "Everybody is excited about the season. We know that we have to take what this team is doing and build on it when we get up there.

"We know we have to come in and just make things better and better."
